Meeting Descriptions

Life Skills

Life Skills Meetings are held weekly to allow residents to deal with personal issues. Interactions between residents dents are highly encouraged; it also provides residents with an opportunity for learning more about the way they interact with others. Life Skills Meetings are a safe environment in which residents work to establish a level of trust that allows them to talk personally and honestly. Upon request, individual meetings with staff are always available.

Serenity Bible

Serenity Bible Meetings take their name from The Serenity Prayer: "God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to knowthe difference." Residents learn more about the Bible, how to pray more effectively, and more about the 12 Steps and how to walk them.

Boundary Meetings

Boundary Meetings are held weekly to teach the residents how to set healthy boundaries with relationships. The purpose of having boundaries is to protect and take care of ourselves. We need to be able to tell other people when they are acting in ways that are not acceptable to us. A first step is starting to know that we have a right to protect and defend ourselves that we have not only the right, but the duty to take responsibility for how we allow others to treat us.

AA and NA Meetings

Attendance at outside AA and NA meetings weekly expose the resident to a social network of recovery-specific support. By introducing AA and NA meetings, residents dents can experience working with a sponsor, begin working the 12-steps of AA or NA in the 4th month of the program. Attending AA and NA meetings, residents have an outlet upon re-entering society to seek recovery-specific support and sober events.

Psycho-Ed / P.E.

Psycho-Ed Meetings is to educate the residents on awareness about the behavioral, medical, and psychological consequences of substance abuse. Outside activity, such as softball, volleyball, bowling, inside games, etc., is scheduled to allow the residents to experience fun! This opportunity for exercise and development afford appropriate outlets for energy and orients the residents to alternative means to have fun in recovery.

"An addiction recovery program that works for you. The Promise of Hope System helps you live a life of freedom through faith."
